Running the vineyard From 2003 on, we have been making huge investments both in the cellar and in the vineyard.
A parcel planted in 2003, a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean One innovation was the planting of 20,000 2-meter stakes in order to avoid wind damage and to increase the exposed leaf surface to ensure a better quality of grape. We trained other vines on wires with the same object in view.
New plantings have also been made: Grenache, Syrah and Roussanne on parcels stretching from the sea to the hillsides of the Banyuls hinterland.
In the Banyuls and Collioure appellations, all the work is done by hand, both in the vineyards and during harvest. The leaves will be thinned out, and yields controlled on a systematic basis, a policy which seems to have already borne fruit in the 2003 vintage.
