The new range The wines of Banyuls are vins doux naturels* made mainly from Grenache Noir. Some of the parcels of old vines have a mixture of Grenache Noir, Grenache white, Grenache Gris, and Carignan which all go into the traditional Banyuls blend. The red Collioures made on the domain are a blend of Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah and old Carignan vines. The white Collioures wines are made from Grenache Gris and Blanc with a touch of Vermentino to make it fresher and more aromatic. Since 2003, the cellar has been producing a whole range of wines which show the immense potentiality of this terroir at its best:
Banyuls Traditionnel & Vintage (fortified wines: intense, concentrated and full of fruit) Collioure Blanc & Rosé (Grenache Gris, Vermentino) Collioure Rouge (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) And a tiny quantity of Solera …
* Vin Doux Naturel (VDN) – an official French appellation for a fortified wine which is muted during the fermentation process.
